Teaching

I am committed to the teacher-scholar model, and as a political scientists I view teaching as the core foundation of my work. My classroom teaching experience spans a diverse variety of institutions, from a regional public university, to a private research university, to a liberal arts college. As a proud of alumnus of Frostburg State University, a teaching-oriented comprehensive institution, I have always been dedicated the impact that undergraduate teaching, mentorship, and advising can make for students.

My training as an educator has included the completion of multiple teaching certificates from the University of Notre Dame Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence with professional development that covered classroom engagement, inclusive teaching practices for diverse student populations, teaching in the age of artificial intelligence, and online course management. I was honored to receive the 2024 Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award from the University of Notre Dame Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence.
